Enrollment and Costs

Wisconsin Martial Arts & Fitness Center offers trial classes to all prospects so you can experience our traditional martial arts and jiu-jitsu programs.
Rates can be discussed at the beginning or end of your trial, per the prospect's discretion.
We do offer some family and referral discounts, with specifics discussed upon enrollment.

We offer a one year contract. After the first year has been completed, enrollment is ongoing. There is an early termination fee if a student decides to terminate before the full year has been completed.
This policy is common in most gyms.

Most classes take place on weekday evenings and weekends, but there are some adult weekday classes.
Please see the schedule for details. We also offer a Saturday morning family hour class where all students and families, including children and parents, can train together.

Our traditional martial arts program has Tang Soo Do and Hwa Rang Do influences. Thus students will learn hard linear application, circular application, and the redirection of energy. Students will enjoy open hand and weapon forms, sparring/kickboxing, self defense including joint manipulation and takedowns, fundamentals, and lots of exercise!
We offer a tremendous kids and adults program!

Both systems come together as one package and our students and families love the variety.

Ranks, Prior Experience, and Eligibility
-
Our enrollment starts at 4 years of age.

WI-MAFC serves a diverse student body representing a wide spectrum of physical, intellectual, and social abilities.
We can make many accommodations for students to take part in mainstream training, and also have an adult adaptive program for non-ambulatory people.
Please see the schedule for details on the adaptive program, and feel free to talk to the head instructor about how your needs can be accommodated.
-
It depends. For fairness and consistency, most new students begin at white belt for both traditional martial arts and jiu-jitsu, unless upon evaluation the head instructor determines that an exception or modification to recognize priorly earned rank can be made. This will be on a case-by-case basis and ultimately comes down to the head instructor's discretion.
Some people with previous experience may learn curriculum and techniques at a faster pace and so test for new rank more frequently, but usually even students with experience find that there is a lot to learn and get better at and so are challenged enough moving at the typical pace.
Discussions about cross-training should take place directly with the head instructor.
